Hillsong Worship releases special compilation project ‘Take Heart (Again)’

GRAMMY® Award-winning and multi-platinum selling Christian music powerhouse, Hillsong Worship, announce the release their latest album, “Take Heart (Again).” A collaborative expression of familiar yet newly potent declarations of praise featuring members from Hillsong Worship, Hillsong UNITED, and Hillsong Young & Free, the project is available worldwide today via Capitol Records.

“Take Heart (Again)” is a continuation of the faith-filled messages that Hillsong Worship was built on and a reminder that “taking heart” is not a one-time occurrence. Consisting of both timeless and more recent songs from the group’s extensive catalogue, many of the tracks take on a new meaning in our current world where declarations of hope, faith, and God’s love are so important.

“This album encapsulates our prayer that we would take heart in this season,” says Hillsong Worship’s Brooke Ligertwood. “That as we read the next headline, or receive the next report, whether good or bad, we would take heart again, put our hope in Jesus again, confess his Lordship again. He has been faithful in the past and He will be faithful again.”

The 12-track compilation features some of the group’s most beloved praise and worship songs including Hillsong classics “Hosanna,” “Eagle’s Wings,” and “Broken Vessels (Amazing Grace) / Life,” as well as more recent favorites like “Who You Say I Am,” “New Wine,” and much more.
“As we pray again, lament again, rejoice again, declare again, love mercy again, praise again – we do so in absolute faith that we will see God’s goodness again, experience His presence again and see Him keep His promises again,” adds Ligertwood. “We will take heart, again, and God will be faithful again, because faithfulness is not just what He does – it’s who He is.”

Tobymac Releases ‘I’m Sorry’

TobyMac has released a new song, ‘I’m Sorry’, as a way of apologizing to God on how far we have fallen short.

“Over a year ago as I stood with my wife and a group of friends on the Arbel Cliffs in Israel, our tour guide began to recite by memory the sermon on the mount… completely unannounced,” Toby explained on Instagram.

“The words of Jesus from Matthew 5, 6 and 7 struck me as if I had never read them before. I realized just how far we have strayed from what Jesus is asking of us. This (song) is simply my response, not judgment. I am deeply sorry for how far we have fallen short. And Godly sorrow leads to repentance. The church is God‘s plan, and I love it…. that’s why I had to write this song.

Hillsong Young & Free releases ‘All of My Best Friends’

Grammy nominated Hillsong Young & Free’s fourth career album “All of My Best Friends” has just been released. The new compilation features 20 newly-penned songs (13 live performance tracks and seven studio recordings), including the group’s breakout single “Best Friends” which peaked at #1 on the Hot AC chart and remains the highest audio debut of any Hillsong track with more than 6.3 million global streams.

Young & Free continues to play an integral role in reaching this generation for Christ with their revamped contemporary approach. Recorded in Sydney, Australia, “All of My Best Friends” was born out of collaboration, unity and seeking to express the raw, bright-eyed passion of Hillsong’s youth group. The new project captures the uninhibited feeling of discovering the love of Jesus and is a reminder that we are all connected to each other.

“I think our greatest hope for our music is that people, whatever their background, circumstance or belief, would know that there is a purpose for their life,” says Young & Free’s Melodie Mezieres-Wagner. “That there is more to life than what they see and that they’re not alone and never have been.”

“We never could have imagined the turn of events that would follow the recording of this album and yet it is full of relevant songs that bring joy and perspective in the midst of uncertain times,” adds Young & Free’s Laura Toggs. “The very essence of Young & Free is a sound that unlocks joy within our hearts. We’ve been waiting to release it at the right time. I think it’s important right now…that you get an infection of joy.”

In January 2020, Young & Free released their first in a series of six singles leading up to the album launch, all of which have garnered more than 15 million global streams to date. Previously released 2020 tracks (also featured on the new album) include “Uncomplicated,” “As I Am,” “World Outside Your Window,” “Lord Send Revival,” “Best Friends,” and current radio single “Never Have I Ever” (#20 at Hot AC) which quickly gained radio momentum with eight adds out of the box. The new song continues to build at radio in the “new & active” category on the Christian Airplay and Hot AC charts.

Since forming in 2013, Hillsong Young & Free has released three highly successful albums and more than 20 singles, acquiring over 459 million YouTube channel views and 1.2 billion global career streams (with a 700,000 plus global unit career consumption). With a combined social following of 3 million plus fans, Young & Free has seen seven No. 1 career singles and 10 Top 5 singles at Hot AC radio. Their debut album “We Are Young & Free” landed in the Top 25 on Billboard 200 while “Youth Revival” garnered the group its first-ever Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album (2017). Their recent single “Every Little Thing” hit #1 at Hot AC radio for eight weeks, making it the longest running #1 for the band.

“All of My Best Friends” follows on the heels of the youth worship collective’s 2018 studio album “III” that earned the group tremendous acclaim amassing over 75 million streams and 75,000+ units in global consumption.

Hillsong Worship and Tasha Cobbs Leonard announce collaborative release

GRAMMY® Award-winning Hillsong Worship, along with GRAMMY® Award-winning singer/songwriter Tasha Cobbs Leonard, announce the release of a special collaborative edition of “Awake My Soul.” Featuring lead vocals from Hillsong worship leader/songwriter Brooke Ligertwood and Cobbs Leonard, the single is available now.

When Hillsong Worship was first searching for words and melodies to articulate what would become their “AWAKE” album, they felt a clear directive toward a sound that would accompany an awakening of God’s people. “Awake My Soul” became a song-cry of intercessional praise and an invitation to consider the spiritual ‘sound’ of the Saviour’s response. From the outset, the song was a powerful expression of spiritual warfare.

“Last year our church, Hillsong, announced that Tasha Cobbs Leonard was going to be one of our guests at Hillsong Conference 2020 in July in Sydney, Australia (news which was met with much jubilation!),” said Ligertwood. “At the beginning of this year, Tasha and I then began talking about what it would be like for us to record a song together live at Hillsong Conference.

We witnessed the COVID-19 pandemic evolve, as it reached a point that necessitated postponement of live events and conferences the world over. It became clear we weren’t going to be able to execute what we’d originally planned. However, the collaboration felt important, so perhaps there was something else we could do…And so, ‘Awake My Soul with Tasha Cobbs Leonard’ was birthed.

Though we could not have foreseen the potent timing of this collaboration, it was well within the Lord’s realm of knowledge and so we are grateful, yet not surprised!”

“What God was birthing in us was on purpose, and it was for this time,” adds Tasha Cobbs Leonard.” ‘“Awake My Soul’ calls for the Church to arise and take authority. It reminds us of an eternal weight and an eternal calling. Together, this anthem is the Church’s declaration that there is an awakening taking place in the earth. The Kingdom of God is alive!’

“Awake My Soul” is Hillsong Worship’s first collaboration since partnering with Delirious back in 2004. The duo (Ligertwood and Cobbs Leonard) have been friends for years and share the same passion for worship and the same desire to connect people to God. Together, they pray that this rendition will be a reflection of God’s heart for His Church: unity, diversity, peace and power.

“Our hope is that this version of ‘Awake My Soul’ unequivocally exhorts every believer who hears it to PRAY with faith and authority for our world and Christ’s Church at this time in history,” says Ligertwood and Cobbs Leonard.

“May His Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven, and may our worship and intercession pull that reality into this one:

“And when He moves and when we pray
Where stood a wall now stands a way
Where every promise is Amen”

Lecrae drops new single ‘Deep End’

Fresh after being caught up in the interview with Louie Giglio, where he came under fire for comments made about “white privilege”, Lecrae has launched a new single.

Giglio was joined by Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy and rapper Lecrae for an “open and honest conversation around how racism has plagued Atlanta for generations when he made incredulous comments about white blessing becoming white privielege.

Lecrae responded to Giglio’s comments, stating, “I have a lot of racial trauma. After spending the last few years battling racism within the evangelical church I was in a dark place. In that interview I feared going back there. I’m healing but not healed. I’m definitely protecting myself from a breakdown.

“I want to be clear I’m sorry for anyone who was let down and hurt. This was good for me in many ways. It burns but it burns in a helpful way. Lamentations 3 has comforted me. I’m grateful for the love. Even the tough love.”
