Lauren Daigle Performs ‘Look Up Child’ on American Idol

American Idol has seen another comeback performance, with award-winning Christian singer Lauren Daigle performing her hit song “Look Up Child.”

The iconic series, which has revolutionized the music industry by pioneering the music competition genre, has returned to the ABC.

One of the show’s favorites, Lauren gave an incredible, unique performance of her Christian hit.

After being signed to the label Centricity Music, she released her debut album, How Can It Be, in 2015. It reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart, has been certified Platinum by the RIAA and produced three No. 1 singles on the Billboard Christian Airplay chart.

Daigle’s third studio album, Look Up Child, was released in September 2018. Bolstered by the pop crossover success of the single “You Say”, it went on to debut at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, becoming the highest-charting Christian album by a woman in over 20 years, and No. 1 on the Top Christian Albums chart, with 115,000 album-equivalent units sold in the first week.

The album’s lead single, “You Say”, peaked at No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has broken the record for the number of weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart at 101 weeks for any solo artist. The album and single earned Daigle two Grammy Awards.

In addition to two Grammy Awards, Daigle has won seven GMA Dove Awards, five Billboard Music Awards, two American Music Awards, and has had four No. 1 singles on both the Billboard Christian Airplay and Hot Christian Songs chart.

Lauren Daigle gets creative during coronavirus lockdown

It’s a clever video of Lauren Daigle’s popular song Still Rolling Stones. Daigle has released a Zoomified version of the hit.

While churches and all other organizations have been forced to work out how to manage without a live crowd, so have musicians. They have all been getting creative, as is evidenced in Daigle’s video below.

Daigle performed the song last year on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers‘.

“I had so much fun with all my bandmates putting this together for you!” she said on Instagram. “From all of us, we hope you enjoy the social distancing version of “Still Rolling Stones”!”

The Zoom version would have taken quite some work, but musicians, surrounded by some of the most creative people around, probably have an easier road to create such videos than many others.

in addition to this, the lockdown is a chance for musicians to get their digital affairs in order and work out how to do an even better job at connecting with their fans on social media.

Daigle also posted this lockdown video to Instagram, which at the tome of publishing, had been seen by more than 877,000 people.

Lauren Daigle smashes it on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

Award-winning Christian artist Lauren Daigle has made another appearance on the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ show. The shows, as part of the Jimmy Kimmel Love! Mercedes-Benz Concert Series, saw her wow the crowd.

Along with her recent single You Say, she also performed This Girl.

At the recent Grammys, Daigle won the award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance with her song You. She also won best album with Look Up Child – for which she beat Elevation Worship, Jesus Culture, Michael W. Smith and Zach Williams.

Daigle has risen up the charts in terms of popularity, too. She was under fire for her comments about homosexuality, as well as performing on the Ellen De Generes show, which dramatically lifted her profile.
